ABOUT MS. JAMES
I am originally from Albuquerque, NM, where I graduated in 1999 from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. I worked in the business world as a Customer Support Supervisor and trainer for 8 years, when I decided to pursue my passion of teaching others, and obtain an alternative certification in teaching.

I started teaching 5th grade in 2008 at Dooley Elementary School in Plano, TX. Due to an overabundance of students, and deficit of teachers, I was bumped to McCall Elementary, also in Plano. There, I taught 4th grade for five years. Having teenagers of my own, I wanted to change things up a bit, and move to the older kids.
This brought me to Staley in 2014, as a 6th grade teacher, and have climbed the educational ladder with some of our Mustangs. I now teach 6th & 7th grade GT, as well as 7th grade Pre-AP.

Our Hobbies
In our spare time, my husband and I enjoy riding our motorcycle with our friends. We have put many miles on various bikes over the years, and have many tales to share. We especially enjoy the mountains of Colorado and Arkansas. We also enjoy baseball and football, where we are proud to say we cheer on the Colorado Rockies and the Rangers, and the Denver Broncos!

My Family
Jacob is a Junior at Texas Tech, double-majoring in Music Education and Performance. His dream is to some-day be a collegiate band director. He was a Drum Major at Plano Senior High School, and is currently a section leader in The Goin' Band From Raiderland. He has traveled and competed with the Santa Clara Vanguard, part of the Drum Corp, International. They came in 4th place in the World Championships in 2016, and he plans to march again in the summer of 2018.

Alec is a Freshman at San Diego State University. His passion is in photography and nature. He is studying to become a translator.

Megan is a Senior at Plano Senior High School, and is a Captain of the Wildcat Band Colorguard. She is rather interested in the field of Psychology, where she may study to become a Forensic Psychologist. She is a great lover and protector of animals.
My Fur Babies
Bella is a Plott Hound, and is 7 years old. She is a very smart and loving dog, whose bark is definitely bigger than her bite! She was a rescue (the best kind), and is our great protector, unless there's a thunderstorm.

Ritzy is a Tuxedo kitty with a half-stash, and is very quirky. She wakes me every morning to feed Bella. Once I do that, I am allowed to go back to sleep, unless it's the school year, of course! She's also known for her Heisman skills, as she does not like to be cuddled unless it's her idea.
